In honor of Data Privacy Week, January 22-28, the agency’s Compliance and Privacy Department is hosting an online scavenger hunt to test Auburn University employees’ knowledge of privacy practices at AU. Employees can complete this five-question digital his scavenger hunt for her by finding and emailing the answers on her website in the Office of Audit, Compliance & Privacy. privacy@auburn.edu Get your Qualified Tokens by the end of January! Data Privacy Week highlights the importance of privacy in the digital world. The goal is to spread awareness of the importance of her privacy online so that individuals are empowered to control their personal data and organizations are encouraged to protect user data. Auburn University is his 2023 Data Privacy Week Champion registered with the National Cyber security Alliance (NCA).
AU Data Privacy Week Online Scavenger Hunt:1. Name three of the eight Fair Information Practices Principles (FIPPs) that guide the proper handling of an individual’s personal data.2. The University Policy on Confidentiality of Student Records, which specifies the process for students to access their educational records and the limited “directory information” that can be disclosed without the student’s consent, recognizes which federal law. Are you doing it?3. What types of data does HIPAA-protected health information fall into according to the University’s Data Storage Matrix? (Tip: Log in to view the Data Storage Matrix).4. Who do I contact if I believe a data breach has occurred (personal or confidential data has been improperly accessed, disclosed or compromised)?5. What is the approval process required before purchasing technology hardware, software, applications, systems, equipment, or online services?
