Rose Dugan doesn’t skimp when it comes to SK Siltron CSS.
Dugan, Quality Assurance Officer at a semiconductor wafer fab in Bay County, said:
The good news for the Great Lakes Bay region is that SK Siltron CSS plans to continue increasing its workforce and doubling its production capacity annually to meet the demand for semiconductor chips with silicon carbide wafers. .
“We will grow exponentially over the next few years, and I believe we will make a significant contribution to the local economy and local workforce,” said Tiffany Kukla, Human Resources Manager.
SK Siltron CSS is a US subsidiary of SK Siltron, one of the world’s largest silicon wafer suppliers, based in South Korea. In 2019, we expanded into the silicon carbide field when we acquired DuPont’s silicon carbide wafer unit in Williams Township. He then purchased the former FP Horak building in Monitor Township, where he completed a 200,000-square-foot addition last year as part of his $300 million investment in Bay County businesses.
The company has also created 150 new highly skilled jobs and now has 240 employees, ranging from scientists and engineers to operators, quality control specialists and supply chain specialists, the study said. Development Manager Matthew Gabe said:
Bay Future, Inc. President and CEO Trevor Keyes said the company’s investment in Bay County is already having a significant impact on the region.
“Our neighbors, friends and family have the opportunity to find new high-tech careers here that will have a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their children,” said Keyes.
Dugan couldn’t agree more.
The 42-year-old Bridgeport mother has been manufacturing silicon carbide wafers at the Williams Township facility since 2017. SK Siltron CSS promoted her from her Shipping Specialist to Quality Assurance Operator last May. She says she loves her new role.
“It’s our job to make sure that the products we send to our customers are the best and meet all of our specifications,” says Dugan. “It’s definitely an important job.”
Dugan said he feels SK Siltron CSS is family-oriented and concerned with the well-being of its employees, both personally and professionally. The company is very understanding about the time she needs to take care of her father who has dementia.
“I will never forget the day our CEO asked me how my father was doing,” she said. “It’s pretty amazing.”
Dugan said there are many career opportunities available to anyone interested.
“There are so many different types of jobs here for different types of people,” she said. “If you’re looking for a rewarding job, come.”
