Mizanur Rahman has been building websites and website templates since 2012. He was the elite creator of He ThemeForest, a popular marketplace where you can buy and sell templates and themes for popular content management system (CMS) software that helps you manage your website. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.
Early in his career, Mizan learned that customers wanted more customization than these platforms offered, and wanted to change the templates themselves.
So he worked with another website and website template maker, Anwar Hossain, to allow people to make these customizations. To make this happen, we needed a builder, software that allows users to develop sites without any knowledge of code.
In 2016, they made their first attempt at launching a builder. Unfortunately, it was not successful due to some technical limitations. So they took a break and started working on other things. In late 2019, the project started gaining momentum again.
By April 2020, Dorik’s first landing page for finding beta testers and early customers was live. From the day they launched their landing page, they started receiving requests for early access to their product and immediately granted access to beta users. After implementing the payment system, Dorik got his first customer on 4th July 2020.
Dorik is an all-in-one website building platform. It allows anyone to build dynamic websites such as blogs, job boards, portfolios and directories without touching a line of code. Build content-rich websites with features like membership, team collaboration, and native SEO built-in. We also provide AWS hosting and global CDN to serve your website faster.
On August 10, 2020, Dorik officially launched ProductHunt. On launch day, they were the #2 product of the day. By the end of the first week of being fully operational, we had over 250 paying customers and haven’t looked back since.
Dorik has received funding to date from early-stage venture funds based in San Francisco’s Long Journey Ventures and from Airbnb employee-turned-investor Air Angels. They preferred not to disclose the amount received.
One of the most unique things about Dorik is that it’s a Sylhet-based startup. Of the 43 employees, 4 are based in Dhaka and Chattogram and the rest work at the head office in Sylhet. However, this unique location also presented them with some challenges. Not only was it difficult to find skilled workers willing to come and work in Sylhet, the situation was further complicated by the global shortage of skilled developers.
Dorik’s Chief Operating Officer, Nabil, said:
Dorik currently has approximately 32,000 users, including 2,000 paying customers. It operates on a freemium model.
“Users have free access to all features. You only need to pay if you use a custom domain. For example, if you are using the domain Tbs.dorik.io, you can use it for free. Next You only have to pay if you want a custom domain like tbs.com,” explains Nabil Choudhury.

“We took our name from the word ‘Doric’, one of the three orders of ancient Greek and later Roman architecture. I replaced “C” with “K” for better pronunciation. Also, the Dorik domain was available out of the box. said Nabil.
“Order” in architecture refers to a system of rules that structure the shape, structure, layout and proportions of a design. That’s why I chose the name,” he added.
Dorik’s main mission is to build an affordable website building platform for everyone in the world. It combines ease of use and flexibility, allowing anyone in the world to build his website.
Dorik focuses on extending No-Code. Over the last few years, the term “no code” has been used more and more. We are on a mission to provide agencies and professionals with no-code solutions.
“Our goal is to make it easy for anyone to create an attractive website in minutes without having to learn a complicated platform. It’s our mission,” said Dorik co-founder Mizanur Rahman. We launched Dorik and watched him grow to be one of the top website builders on the market. ”
“It was a great experience to see thousands of people using our platform to build beautiful websites,” added Mizan.
Dorik is very popular among Bangladeshi freelancers who create websites for other people. “They usually have to use WordPress or code their website from scratch. They have to pay different kinds of fees, such as hosting fees. This process is expensive and time-consuming. , Dorik did it in just 30 minutes using a drag-and-drop tool,” Nabil explains.
Many of Dorik’s customer base are business people. And when starting a business, you need your own website.
“But it may cost hundreds of thousands of taka to launch one, not to mention that developers need a certain amount of time to complete their work. You can build your own website,” said Nabil. “It only takes 30 minutes to get the hang of it.”
No-code technology in web development is fairly new. However, there are other players on the market. So what makes Dorik different from other packs?
“First, our product is cheaper than our competitors. It’s free if you don’t want a custom domain. Second, other products have steeper learning curves. We don’t. Bubble, for example, One of our competitors, it takes about six months to learn how to use Bubble, while it takes 30 minutes to understand how our product works,” says Nabil. says Mr.
“Our UI and UX are also very modern and user-friendly,” he added.
When asked how Dorik sees them in five years’ time, Nabil is quick to respond.
So far, user feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Ethan O’Sullivan, his product manager at his US IT company EPAM, said:
