Microsoft announced Copilot, a new AI-powered tool designed to make your job easier. This ChatGPT-powered system upgrades the existing suite of Microsoft 365 applications.
Missing your next Teams meeting? AI can go for you. We won’t make suggestions for you, but you can take notes and provide a summary of what was discussed later.
Or, if you need help writing a report, you can use Copilot to draft your report and convert data from other files for use in your report. It also helps to make everything look beautiful with images and color splashes.
Copilot has the potential to revolutionize more than just business processes. They may even be able to help you at home.
The most obvious one is a school project. We don’t recommend letting AI do all the work, but there are a few ways it can help outside of cheating. It may provide helpful prompts to inspire your essay – but you still need to write. It can give you some ideas on where to start and how to scale your work. .
If you’ve ever created a presentation in Powerpoint, you can ask Copilot to bring it to life with images and animations. The content is yours, but given a new coat of paint by AI tools.
Another great personal use case is party planning. This was shown in a Microsoft presentation. Copilot helps you create invitations based on prompts you specify, such as party details and the tone of the invitation. You can then quickly edit and send to your guests.
Then use Word and other prompts to prepare a speech that stands out, or use AI-powered Excel to blow your entire budget into a giant cake before explaining decorations and party favors. You can prevent it from falling off.

Unfortunately, it looks like the consumer version of Copilot won’t be available for some time. During the presentation, Microsft’s chief scientist Jaime Teevan explained that the Copilot rollout is “starting with a small number of customers.” Pricing and licensing details haven’t been released yet, but it looks like only a handful of companies will have access to Copilot at launch.
That being said, expect Copilot to support more Microsoft systems in the not too distant future. These AI capabilities could give Microsoft’s 365 applications a significant edge over rivals such as the Google Workspace apps (Drive, Docs, Gmail, etc.) and Apple’s select apps (Pages, Mail, Keynote, etc.). Microsoft will want to make them widely available to convince people to use their services at home or at work.
We will keep you updated as Copilot and similar services open to more users. Until then, why not check out this method to skip the Bing chat queue or try out these great ChatGPT alternatives that can use AI tools in different ways?
