CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools launched a new website on Saturday in hopes of providing a more engaging experience.

The school district worked with Blackboard’s design team to create what makes the CMS a “powerful communication hub.”

Each school’s website will be revamped and the designs will be available on desktops, mobile phones, tablets and other devices.

“We are excited to launch a new website highlighting the amazing work that is going on in our school and district,” said Interim Superintendent Hugh Hattabaugh. “This website of his helps us build a strong connection with his CMS community and improve its accessibility.”

Some of the site highlights are:

• Consistent navigation across school websites with expanded menus for middle and high school.

• One-click Spanish translation, and other translation options.

• Mobile-friendly design that easily adapts to computers, tablets and smartphones.

• Quick links to the most searched pages.

• A selection of calendars in digital and printable formats.

• Staff can easily edit web pages, even from mobile devices.
