CNOOC starts production from offshore project with CSS function

Chinese state-owned giant CNOOC has started production from the joint development project in Enping.

CNOOC said the joint development field in question is Enping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4. Located in the eastern South China Sea, the average depth is about 90 meters.

The project’s main production facilities include two drilling production platforms and one unmanned wellhead platform.

According to the company, 48 production wells will be commissioned. The project is expected to reach a peak crude oil production of about 35,500 barrels per day in 2024.

Eunping 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 The joint oil field development project will adopt the first new unmanned platform in the eastern South China Sea, with remote production capabilities in typhoon mode.

At the same time, the project plans to have one carbon dioxide gas injection well for reinjection and storage of carbon dioxide produced in the oilfield. This is China’s first offshore carbon capture and storage demonstration project.

CNOOC holds a 100% interest and acts as the operator of the Eunpyeong 15-1/10-2/15-2/20-4 oil field joint development project.
