“CS is the backbone of corporate India”

Road Transport and Highways Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said the company secretary is the backbone of corporate India. He also said that company secretaries play an important role in the country’s economic growth. Mr. Gadkari spoke at the first session of the conference on “Corporate Law and Improvisation” organized by the Nagpur Chapter of the Indian Institute of Company Secretaries (ICSI) at the Hotel Tri Imperial, Nagpur.

CS Devendra Deshpande, President of ICSI. CS Manish Gupta, Vice President. His WIRC President of ICSI, CS Rajesh Tarpara, was the guest of honor. The meeting was organized by his Nagpur chapter of ICSI, headed by CS Rohan Mehra. CS Rashmi Mitkary, Secretary, CS Bhavesh Thadani, CS Aalhad Mahabal Treasurer. Past Chairman CS Shantanu Jog, Past Chairman CS Deepti Joshi and Past Chairman CS Khusboo Pasari were also present.

CS Rahul Thakwani and CS Ishita Agrawal chaired the event. CS Khushal Bajaj, CS Mohit Batra, CS Jay Sodani, Sudhakar Aisalwaru, Deepak Bhosale and Dinesh Borikar were part of the organizing team. The seminar was attended by over 200 company secretaries.

The topic covered in the technical session was “The Listing Space – Growth Through Transparency” by CS B Ranganathan General Counsel, Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mumbai. Sections 185, 186 and 188 i.e. the provisions relating to loans to directors and related party transactions under his Companies Act 2013, by his CS Makarand Joshi, Practical Company Secretary of Mumbai Submitted. Branding and Digital Leveraging his marketing to expand his professional practice explained Dr. Sanjay Arora of Nagpur.
