Macomb, Illinois – Charles Eddington, a building services worker at Western Illinois University, has been named the 2022 Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Year.

Elected Civil Servant of the Month for October 2022, Eddington received an engraved watch and a $500 scholarship from the WIU Foundation. He assumed his current position in August 1998 and currently works at the Malpass Library.

The Employee of the Year voting process included Employee of the Year among the nominees. This year, a poll was also launched for all university employees.

This year’s nominees were the following 18 people.

design, theater and dance

• AIMS Human Resources/Payroll Manager Kevin Markham, AIMS

• Desktop Architect Joe Butcher, UTech

• Senior Library Specialist Bill Cook, University Libraries

• Administrative Assistant Elaine Kaple, WIU QC Management

• Office Manager Courtney Humphrey-Muegge, LEJA

• Sergeant Robert Rooney, OPS

• Office Manager Sheila Paul, Facility Management

• College Budget Officer Renee Georges, Budget Office

• Assistant Director of International Admissions Sheryl Harty, Graduate Studies

• Office Manager, Monique Campbell, School of Management and Marketing
