Emporia High Basketball Team Hosts Paola

The Emporia High basketball team will begin a short two-game homestand on Tuesday hosting Paola.

The Lady Spartans are looking to continue their undefeated season by facing a 2-6 Paola team. Paola is coached by former Emporia State Lady Hornet Jamie (Augustin) Butler, who was his coach Carolyn Dorsey’s teammate at Emporia High during the 2006-07 season.

Dorsey says Lady Spartans must take this game seriously if they want to continue their success.

Senior Ariana Hamilton says the Lady Spartans gained confidence after Friday’s win at Topeka High.

The boys at Emporia High School are looking to extend their winning streak to three as they face the Paola team, who are 0-8.

Coach Lee Baldwin says playing at their tempo will be key.

Sophomore River Peters says the Spartans must continue their style of basketball.
