The demonstration will show speeds reaching 2.1Gbps using 5G dual connectivity and carrier aggregation software capabilities.
High uplink data rates enable uplink-intensive applications in venues and industrial environments.
Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and e& etisalat have demonstrated an uplink data peak rate of 2.1 gigabits per second (Gbps) in commercial networks.
Combining Ericsson’s new Radio Dual Connectivity (NR-DC) and carrier aggregation software capabilities, e& etisalat will be able to boost uplink data speeds in 5G networks. This demo was made possible by aggregating 4×100 MHz high-band millimeter wave (mmWave) carrier components and his 1×100 MHz mid-band carrier component in the uplink.
High uplink data rates enable uplink-centric applications such as augmented reality, virtual reality, high-definition video, live broadcasts from venues, or industrial environments previously difficult to consider with mobile communications Become. In many uplink load scenarios involving a large number of smartphone users, such as sports matches, concerts, and other large-scale events, increased uplink network capacity directly benefits and greatly improves the user experience. .
5G is creating unprecedented opportunities for people and businesses by supporting cutting-edge solutions such as e-health, connected cars, and advanced mobile cloud gaming. Faster connection speeds, ultra-low latency, and increased bandwidth are driving progress, transforming industries, and dramatically improving everyday experiences.
