Flow Fournier on Designing a Better Future with AI

With AI now on everyone’s tongue and questions about the future continuing to arise, Flow asks questions like, “Can housing be used as a tool for social justice?” and “What if our homes could form the basis of universal social security?”. We want to share some reasons and ethical ways AI can provide affordable housing solutions.

Associate Creative Director Flow talks to LBB’s Nisna Mahtani.

LBB> So, besides Midjourney and DALL E 2, let’s talk about some tools creatives have right now.

It was fun using Flow > Khroma to generate a string of gorgeous AAA-ready palettes based on personal taste. I was playing with narration content using Lovo studio. I have very deep conversations with ChatGPT every day. Helpful pointers to boost my creative process save me a lot of time.

However, all of this does not replace creativity and productivity. It has the power to greatly enhance creativity and productivity. There are people making entire movies with record speed and high quality output. I sometimes hear clients and colleagues feeling intimidated by new AI tools, and the best thing you can do to shake off those feelings is to open up your internet browser and try out the new tools that are available. .

LBB> How did you feel about the forward thinking mentality in the creative process, and what was your path to this role at Sapient?

Flow > Reset my career when I realized I had real creative talent and wasn’t using it properly. Today I can say it paid off. Since then, I have been working with energy and passion. It used to be that people were either creative or analytical, but luckily that’s not the case today.

Planning with “future thinking” in mind has been around for decades. The way I am currently trying to evolve it is by adding layers of user-centric data to support our findings. So it can be very difficult to collect this data, but I think that’s because we haven’t had the right tools, let alone collecting reliable data. imagining, relating to, and analyzing futures is now much easier. Now you can make a hypothesis and test it. We can tap into people’s subconscious minds, observe them, learn from them, and even model their reactions to unexpected events. I think I have the components.

LBB> You mentioned using AI to help with the housing crisis, specifically how to provide people with affordable options. Why did you want to emphasize this?

Working as a Flow> agency gives me the opportunity to constantly learn about new industries. An opportunity to explore the future of housing came from government accounting for housing that could impact the lives of many UAE citizens.

The future of housing is not one, but many scenarios with different implications. At a fundamental level, AI could help us access better housing through more efficient resource allocation, including solving inefficiencies in the housing market and how housing operates today. I have. As a result, today’s luxury home experience can become tomorrow’s commodity. But this only scratches the surface and optimizes our current understanding of what a home is.

LBB> Tell us a little more about how Sapient Dubai is supporting public housing through design solutions and points from previous projects.

By leveraging Flow > Generative Design, we are now able to create reliable and functional layout variations based on the same amount of material but rearranged in different ways. Trying out hundreds of possible combinations and layouts typically requires a lot of expensive man hours and is impractical from both a design and supply chain perspective. However, this could change significantly in the near future as soon as proper care and investment is made.

The result is a home that can be significantly customized and rearranged to suit your needs every few years or with each new tenant or landlord at a significantly reduced cost. That doesn’t mean it will cost money on your walls, but it will make a wide variety of home configurations readily available, both in hardware and software.

LBB> What impact will affordable housing have on homeowners buying through AI-assisted development?

Flow > At face value, a house is just a block of concrete, but it offers shelter, security, independence, power and, ultimately, some freedom. That’s what makes the prices so high today. But what if you could turn that hunk of concrete into a dynamic asset that provides the security your family needs? What if your home could work for its owner? How can we use it as a tool of justice? A home automatically creates and manages resources, pools them, sells them on the smart grid, rents out both physical, energy, and digital assets as needed, and optimizes energy efficiency. What if you could suggest automatic upgrades for building materials?

LBB > Why is it important to consider affordable housing solutions in 2023?

Flow > Now there is a 21st century foundation for universal social security. I hear many tech moguls advocating for a universal basic income, but I think it’s a much more ethical and sustainable way to achieve it. Do you want a passive income from or rely on the goodwill of billionaires? Ultimately, it is a question that may determine the future of our society.
