The first wave of artists to contribute to Daft Punk’s next book after daftFranz Ferdinand, CSS, Disclosure, Porter Robinson and more than 50 others were announced.
The next release, first announced in 2021, is set to offer insight into the legacy of the dance duo and the changing landscape of the electronic music scene.
Featuring commentary from some of the most acclaimed artists of recent years, the book features over 100 guest contributors and a host of new names will be revealed this week.
Disclosure, Franz Ferdinand and Porter Robinson, as well as Annie Mac, Tyga, Dillon Francis and A-Trak have already added their opinions. Many close friends are also participating.
after daft One is about the inner workings of the band and the other focuses on the evolution of the electronic music scene.

In addition to the aforementioned artists, various industry professionals have also been named for their contribution to the genre-spanning history. This includes Oneohtrix Point Never (The Weeknd, uncut gemstone) and Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, Frank Ocean), and the team behind the 2010s Tron Legacy soundtrack.
In addition to providing a glimpse into the dynamics between the French dance duo (real names Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo), the book pays tribute to club culture’s Black and Latin origins and features a variety of interviews. The hardcover edition of after daft: The Rewiring of 21st Century Culture is scheduled for Spring 2024 and is available for pre-order now.

Last month, Daft Punk announced the upcoming release of the 10th Anniversary Expanded Edition of their final album, Random Access Memories. Released May 12th, the reissue features 9 tracks of 35 minutes of outtakes and previously unreleased demos.
Additionally, in January, former member Thomas Bangalter released his first solo album in over 20 years. Entitled “Myth”, the album will be his first release after the band’s breakup in 2021 and will debut on April 7th.
