Jennifer Sher, a cast member of the reality series The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, sentences her to a three-year light sentence for protracted theft from hundreds of victims, many of them elderly. I asked the judge to I am running a telemarketing scheme.

Shah, who is due to be sentenced next month, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to wire fraud in July.

“The terrible business decisions I have made and the professional relationships I have developed stem from some painful personal experiences I have had in my life,” Shah told the judge. In a four-page letter, he wrote: ”

Under the Shah’s plea bargain, the sentencing range is between 11 and 14 years’ imprisonment under advisory guidelines. The probation service has recommended six years in prison, and prosecutors are expected to submit their own sentences to judges next week.

In court documents filed on behalf of the Shah during the sentencing process, her attorney argued that she was not a “key person” in the telemarketing scheme and should receive a lesser sentence than other co-conspirators. The Shah never had direct contact with the victim, her attorney says, but prosecutors claimed she came up with clues leading to the plot’s target.

Prosecutors said the Shah and others had been selling so-called “business services” to alleged victims since 2012.

Shah was arrested last year while Bravo was filming the second season of the reality TV series. In an episode of the show, Shah and her castmates speculated and sparred about her culpability.

Shah’s attorney asked the judge to ignore her portrayal on the show. The promotion’s tagline is “The only thing I’m guilty of is Shah Mizing”.

“Just as Jen Shah has never been a ‘stay-at-home mom’, so little else about her persona and caricatures drawn by RHOSLC editors is true,” her lawyer says. .

Shah submitted 30 letters of support from family and friends, but none from current cast members who had a rocky relationship over two seasons. She asked to serve her sentence in federal prison in Bryan, Texas.

The Shah agreed to forfeit $6.5 million and pay victims up to $9.5 million.
