Blocking FLoC
in new post (opens in new tab) On the Joomla Developer Network, the creator of the CMS expressed his concerns about FLoC:
“For FLoC to be useful to advertisers, cohorts of users necessarily reveal information about their behavior. It means that you have a good idea of what kind of person your first contact is, even if you don’t have to. This can also give them your political views or reveal that you also belong to certain defined medical groups. Nothing will stop it from being done, and movement between cohorts will reveal a lot over time.”
While Joomla (opens in new tab) This certainly isn’t the first time Google has blocked FLoC, as other content management systems, browsers, search engines and developer sites have taken similar steps after Google began testing its new system in March. .Vivaldi so far (opens in new tab) brave (opens in new tab) microsoft edge (opens in new tab) DuckDuckGo (opens in new tab) GitHub (opens in new tab) Furthermore WordPress (opens in new tab) Everyone has voiced their concerns about FLoC, and many have blocked the new tracking system entirely.
