A man arrested on hate crime charges for allegedly spray-painting the word “Groomer” on the front doors of two libraries is now facing charges of possessing child sexual abuse material.

Prince George County, Maryland, Police Said Sutherland, who worked as a librarian at Northview Elementary School in the City of Bowie, was charged with hate crimes and vandalism in June 2022 for allegedly writing “Trimmer” on the front door of her local library. At the time, the Washington, D.C. area was celebrating pride. Sutherland’s hate crime lawsuit is ongoing, and his attorney did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News.
According to local reports WUSA9, Sutherland has been on leave from school work since her arrest and admitted to vandalism. According to WUSA9, he authorized officers to search his home, where they found diapers, a child’s doll, and several child-sized dolls in his bed.
