A man arrested on hate crime charges for allegedly spray-painting the word “Groomer” on the front doors of two libraries is now facing charges of possessing child sexual abuse material.

Prince George County, Maryland, Police Said Sutherland, who worked as a librarian at Northview Elementary School in the City of Bowie, was charged with hate crimes and vandalism in June 2022 for allegedly writing “Trimmer” on the front door of her local library. At the time, the Washington, D.C. area was celebrating pride. Sutherland’s hate crime lawsuit is ongoing, and his attorney did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News.
