
March 15, 2023 – College Sports Solutions (CSS) Selected by New Mexico State University (NMSU) Lead the search for a new men’s basketball head coach.former coach Greg Heyer was fired after a second program-related scandal during his tenure as head coach. Forward Mike Peake was involved in a shooting in Albuquerque in November. Additionally, the Aggies player has made serious harassment allegations against three of his teammates in the NMSU police report. Current athletic director Mario Moccia said he has no plans to hire a new men’s basketball coach, but that hiring a search firm is unlikely to significantly delay the process.
New Mexico State University was founded in 1904. The Aggies have qualified for the Western Athletic Conference and will play in the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. Aggies is one of 34 college basketball teams with his multiple NBA retirement jerseys for the former player.

With more than 25 years of intercollegiate athletic management experience, President Jeff Schemmel is a former athletic director who has held key leadership positions within the NCAA, the Mountain West Conference, and Conference USA, leading the Big 12, Big Ten, and Pac-12 Conference. From his 2005 to his 2009, he was director of athletics at San Diego State University. During his tenure, he negotiated the school’s first comprehensive apparel/equipment contract with Nike and was responsible for hiring and retaining many of the school’s successful coaches and administrators.
