According to superintendent Michael Meihak, a new dedicated printer purchased in December will help the school “pantherize.” Capable of printing documents up to 42″ x 100″, this printer can be used to create signs and posters for display in school buildings and at school events and activities.
Meihak says similar printers are in use in other districts where he worked and have proven to be very beneficial. “It can be a little difficult to learn all of its abilities and how to access them,” he observes. It makes you wonder what you were doing.”
The printers acquired with district equipment and technology funds were approximately $3,000. Due to the difficulty of the “supply chain”, it took about a month from order to delivery. When fully connected with other school technology, her members of staff are provided with the opportunity to learn more about its operation and functionality. Poster printers are stored in the media center for all staff access.
Solveig Sundblad, director of One Act Play and 6th grade teacher, sees the equipment as very useful for drama productions and events, including the one-act comedy Paper or Plastic, which premieres in mid-February. doing. “The play is set in a grocery store,” she says. “Poster printers allow us to create realistic signs and displays that improve the quality of the finished product.”
Meihak expects most of the work produced by the printer to be around 24 inches by 36 inches. They may be displayed in school entrances, hallways and classrooms and used to advertise activities and events.
This printer also has the potential to create window decals using “peel and stick” type material in various sizes.
NRHEG has now downloaded the necessary software and has resolved some issues. Staff training is likely to begin in the coming weeks. Meihak says he is excited to see how this new device will be used in many ways to bring energy and variety to daily school operations and special events.
