Interpretation confirmed a dual paleochannel system in EPL-7646
TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Newsfile Corp. – March 13, 2023)- Planium Energy Co., Ltd. (CSE: UX) (FSE: 2DK) (“company” again “planium“) is pleased to announce the results of the property-wide remote sensing and spectral processing survey completed by Perry Remote Sensing LLC on Exclusive Exploration Licenses (“EPL”) 7646 and 8084 (the “Property”) located in Erongo Uranium Province. I think of Namibia.
Remote sensing interpretation has confirmed that two paleo-channel systems cut into EPL-7646’s subsurface are primarily obscured areas. The northern part of the EPL has more than 10 km of paleo-channel and the southern part of the channel more than 5 km. Paleochannel systems are consistent with both historical targets and new targets generated through mineral maps.

The remote sensing program included the processing, analysis, and interpretation of ASTER and Landsat satellite data on and around properties with known occurrences of similar mineralization, including the Langer Heinrich and Coppie deposits (Fig. 1).

Range of remote sensing survey is 2,383km2 It covers not only the above properties, but also other known nearby uranium deposits (see Figure 2). Using pre-mining remote sensing data, the Langer Heinrich deposit (Paladin Energy) can be used as a model. Where similar mineralization is known. This approach has successfully identified a strong spectral match of mineralized calcrete at the Koppies deposit, approximately 34 km southwest of the property.Overall, compilation of mineral models, interpretation of paleochannels, records of dry and wet season water tables, and Generated structure 30 targets on property. Using regional airborne radiometric data, 11 of these targets were prioritized for further investigation (see Figure 2).

EPLs – 7646 and -8084
EPL-7646 and -8084 (see Figure 2) are located in the Erongo region within the modern temporary watershed south of the Swakop River. The paleochannels within these basins are associated with five of the region’s larger surface or calcrete-hosted uranium deposits: Langer Heinrich, Tumas, Tubas, Oceannis and Koppie. Paleochannels tend to be buried with little or no obvious surface representation to identify them. Calcrete-hosted uranium deposits are formed when uranium-rich granite is leached into groundwater and transported to groundwater through Furuya permeable sediments. In arid regions, intense evaporation can change the chemical composition of water and precipitate the uranium-bearing mineral carnotite.
EPL-8084 is characterized by Swakop group units with granite subterranean outcrops and cut ravines, some of which are covered by calcrete terraces. A mineral map of the western region of the EPL indicates a possible 2.5 km long mineralized paleochannel, consistent with strong airborne radiometric features.
