I think China is trying to make Taiwan complacent. When Chinese jets fly into Taiwan airspace everyday, Taiwan eventually stops getting nervous. If China does this drill annually or more, again Taiwan will become complacent. Should China ever decide to invade, Taiwan will be slow to respond, at which time it might be too late.
