Duluth — St. Scholastica’s Carsen Richels and Nathan Adrian each scored twice in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Mars Lakeview Arena on Friday in a 6-4 win for the Saints.
The CSS scored three in the first period, but the Royals matched the Saints’ output in the second period, with the teams heading into the third period tied.
Adrian scored his second goal at 2:29 of the third period, but Bethel’s Sam Willhite scored about six minutes later to tie the game again.
Alex Severson scored to put the Saints all the way up and Arhib Ledenkov added another with about a minute of play.
The CSS (13-5-2, 10-0-1 MIAC) will face the Royals again on Saturday at 7pm in St. Paul.
Bethel 4, St. Scholastica 2
St Scholastica’s Abby Poelkamp scored early in the first half, but the Saints were unable to maintain their lead in a 4–2 loss to Bethel in St Paul on Friday.
Bethel’s Lindsey Albers equalized late in the first, and Lexi DeBace scored on a power play early in the second to lift the Royals.
CSS’s Lauryn Hull tied the game at around four minutes in second, but Bethel’s Megan Johnson and Curry Abrahamson each scored in third to seal the win.
CSS (6-12-1, 5-8-0 MIAC) will face Bethel again on Saturday at 7pm at Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth.
