Separate Challenges to Illinois’ Gun Ban Progress

EffinghamRadio CromwellMediaSpringfield, Illinois-(Effingham Radio)- A lawsuit filed against Illinois’ new gun ban is moving through the judicial process.

Shortly after obtaining a temporary injunction in an Effingham County state-level challenge last week, attorney Thomas DeVore’s legal partners filed a lawsuit on behalf of nearly 1,700 plaintiffs in another White County state-level lawsuit. He argued before a TRO judge on Wednesday.

In the Effingham County case, DeVore is filing a response to the state’s appeal against TROs issued on behalf of 866 plaintiffs.

Separately, the Illinois Rifle Association federal lawsuit had a motion for preliminary injunction filed Wednesday. was given.

A judge was also assigned Wednesday in the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s third federal lawsuit.
