Superintendent: Framingham High Graduation remains on Friday

FRAMINGHAM – The class of 2023 will celebrate graduation on Friday night, school principal Bob Tremblay said at a school board meeting tonight.

The graduation ceremony is on Friday, June 2nd. He said the government will notify his parents on Thursday.

“Historically, the first Sunday in June was Framingham High School’s graduation ceremony. , heat stroke, and other challenges. So we decided to come out of the pandemic and try something different,” said Supt. Tremblay.

In some districts, the idea under the lights seems to have worked quite well this Friday night. Before that, when we did our first survey, 78% of high school families were in favor of moving on Fridays.In doing so, we were not entirely sensitive to the facts from Friday evening to Saturday sunset, and that became a problem for some of our faith.

“But we think we can keep Friday,” Supt. Tremblay told the school board tonight, Feb. 1.

“We’ve already gone public or published already around Friday June 2nd of this year. People are making plans, probably booking flights, making travel arrangements, hosting parties, booking catering. I think people are already planning and have a lot of logistics in mind, but I hope we can get an early start on Friday night.” Tremblay.

To note religious services, the superintendent of schools checked and found that sunset is not until 8:17 and the administration thinks the graduation ceremony can start and end before that time.

“It’s currently scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and has been running for about two hours, so we can get everyone out by 8:00,” Supt says. Tremblay. “I think it will at least show a good, good faith effort by our community to move it faster. , intends to keep the date and does not require a school board vote.”

“Tomorrow, I will have high school administrators notify families of this intention,” the superintendent said.
