Dr. Talithia WilliamsInternationally renowned mathematician and author Dr. Talithia Williams will host the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Spring 2023 University Forum Series. Admission is free and members of the university and community are invited.

Dr. Williams is Associate Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College and holds degrees from Spelman College, Howard University and Rice University. Her research includes her creating statistical models that emphasize the spatial and temporal structure of data and applying these models to environmental problems. She has worked at NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the National Security Agency, and as a research partner for the World Health Organization.

Alder Prize of the American Mathematical Society. She is best known for her TED talk “Own Your Body’s Data”, where she argues that simple data about our bodies can help us better understand our health.
