Truckee Web Design Firm Mangrove Acquires Canadian Business

Truckee, Calif. — Mangrove, a web design and development studio based in Truckee and Oakland, announced Friday that it is acquiring Manoverboard, a purpose-driven creative agency based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The merger of two well-respected, accredited B Corporations into one powerful institution demonstrates the growing strength of our purpose-driven business community.

As of December 2022, the global community of certified B Corporations is over 6,200, a 44% increase over 2021. His 2021 annual report for B Labs Global states, “Not just more B corporations, but bigger B corporations: 30 publicly traded companies.” Currently accredited, 15 of which went IPO last year. ”

Manoverboard Founder and Principal Andrew Boardman said: Elsewhere he hopes to provide leadership and guidance to B Corp on the possibilities that mergers and acquisitions can bring. ”

Of more direct relevance to Mangrove’s clients, the merger of two agencies under the Mangrove brand will strengthen Mangrove’s digital design and development services. The agency looks forward to expanding its award-winning digital design and website services to a larger, global client base.

The merger officially took place on January 16th.

Mangrove’s 18-person staff globally and Manoverboard’s 6-person crew in Canada will be one strong cross-functional design and development team. Boardman joins Mangrove’s management team of Maya Holliday, Megan Yarnal and Marie Koesnodiharjo. Her former Manoverboard team will continue to operate out of Winnipeg.
