IKEA has revealed that it will update its smart home catalog with two new sets of smart blinds in 2024. These could be some of the best smart home devices of 2023.
Smart blinds are just like regular blinds in that they block out sunlight, but they don’t have to be physically pulled up and down and can be controlled by a smart home hub or controller. This makes it ideal for hard-to-reach windows or home theater rooms where you can dim the lights without leaving your couch.
IKEA currently makes two types of smart blinds, Fyrtur and Kadrilj, according to German tech site SmartApfel. (opens in new tab) That updated model will be available next year. IKEA has yet to confirm how these new models will be upgraded compared to options currently available on the market, or how much they will cost.
