Monday’s Zoning Board meeting proved to be a good night for legalized pot in Bridgeport. There, cautious officials recently decided to welcome a new recreational cannabis industry after years of keeping medical marijuana facilities at bay.

Not only has the zoning commission rejected an effort to tighten six-month-old restrictions on the sale of recreational cannabis, but members have also approved a previously rejected application for the city’s second dispensary.

“It (Recreational Cannabis) was enacted. Opening of a hybrid retail and medical cannabis facility at 15 Dewey Street, an office/industrial building between Interstate 95 and Mountain Grove Cemetery. Attorney Charles Willinger, on behalf of client 1201 Bridgeport Properties LLC’s proposed amendment, said:
